Finally: Moral Injury is More Than Psychological

I’m often amazed at how stovepiped the thinking is when it comes to veterans and the problems they can develop years after returning home. Psychiatrists & physicians want it all to be physical malady, VA psychologists think of it as a “mental” problem, and religious or spiritual leaders think of it as a “getting right with God” problem. Moral injury is more than that, it can span all three areas. This article and the workshop it highlights finally acknowledges that all three can be important:

I don’t care much for the scare quotes around moral injury, but the rest of the article does highlight the importance of an integrated approach. Worth a read.
